B – ACROBATICS

B.1. – Beginners Acrobatics Workshop

This workshop (1-2 hours) is also considered as an introduction to the world of circus skills using acrobatics as the vehicle.
The session starts off with a suitable warm-up and ends with a cool-down adapted to the needs of the group and with respect to the exercises followed in the session.
Games and group dynamics are used to develop the techniques and knowledge required to achieve the various postures and movements of simple acrobatics. The workshop helps the participants to be conscious of their bodies and how to use them in a fun way.

B.2. – Acrobatics Course

(1,2 or 3 sessions per week over a term or a whole year)
This course emphasises working with the flexibility, strength and stamina needed for more advanced acrobatics. A solid base is built up through exercises and stretching, which can then be used to work on the balances, verticals, handstands and postures in an individual, pair or group context. The dynamics of tumbling, summersaults, flick-flacks and springs are also explored.
Special importance is given to the development of a consciousness of the physical state of each participant and his or her capabilities and limitations.
